beets fading fast

The beets that I used the other day are fading fast. I converted to black and white with channel mixer and then used nik color efex to get to a sort of a brown color. I then added two layers and handcolored back in the beet color and the green leaves. I shot on a copy stand with the lights on only from one side to get some nice shadows.

Pardon the pun but It looks like you beet the heck out of it. I do like it though and there is a lot of character in the photo. Well done.
