Cosmos - Universe in the Front Yard
I scattered Cosmos seeds in the front yard back in June. Here are the results. I used Klondike Mix. I got the effect I was looking for. Supposedly they may reseed themselves and I will have them back next summer. I also am collecting some seeds to scatter around and I have located a place to purchase seeds too. I need to take another picture of a longer view so you get the full effect.

Santa Fe Raven
This is a sculpture that we picked up in Santa Fe to add to the backyard.

Water Feature and Roo
This is another picture of the water feature we added to the backyard with Roo, one of the dogs. We just replaced the Japenese Maple with a larger one. There is a light that shines on the tree and water at night.

Front Porch
This is the rest of the front porch. Once the deck and sidewalk are complete, the landscaping begins. See front and back landscape plans below.

Sidewalk Connecting to Porch Steps
You can see how the sidewalk will connect to the porch. You can also see the offending downspout. It was a pain in winter with ice on the steps and drive. Bad design by the builder???

Backyard: Three rocks
They are still working on the backyard. It is really coming together. These are the three rocks. Two are native KY sandstone (?). The other is from MI.

Front Yard
Lots of progress was made while we were in Santa Fe. This is the front yard now. They are working today and I think everything will be finished today except for one tree that we will not get until next spring.

Fountain/Water Feature
Finally have had a chance to set up the water feature and see if it really works. It is not yet in the correct place in the backyard. That will happen within the next two weeks. Just had to see it working before leaving on vacation.

NM Rock
My husband picked out a rock for the front yard. Now I can dream of NM and touch my rock. We also got a rock for the backyard that will become part of a three rock arrangement. The yard is moving along SLOWLY. Hopefully the landscaping will be completed over the next 2 weeks.
The rock will be in the midst of a planting bed. The flower pots with the million bells will be moved around to work within the final design. There will be a tree and additional plants added. Can't wait to see the finished yard.

Looking Back to the Deck
And there are Toby and Roo. The deck is really pretty at night. We have low lights on the deck and the risers. I will next post a night shot.

Deck finished
The deck was completed while I was in Chicago. NEXT comes the planting. Hopefully next week the landscaper will implement the plan.
