Aalborg’s industrial settings are essential to the deepest soul of the city. These places emanate a special atmosphere, full of humanity, where it’s easy to imagine the echos of voices surrounded by the cacophony of the rhythmic sound of machines.
Looking at the industrial scene, my first impression is aesthetical, where lines and contrasts reveal architectural richness. I consider these industrial buildings in the same way as one would regard a castle or a cathedral.
Approaching more closely, I can feel the life beneath the surface, and the close relation between man and machine, working together as partners.
Observing the workers through the lens, I notice that even the smallest part of an industrial product has its own story, which is the result of dedicated and focused craftsmanship.
This photographic work is also a tribute in honor of the men’s work, of their efforts, their successes and their failures. A celebration of contemporary and past industry, which has enabled the world to move forward.
