Eastern screech owls

Raptor Center

Here's another photo from the Raptor Center (posted with their permission.) Besides flying birds, we also clean the flight pens. I was cleaning this pen containing these two baby screech owls and snapped a (very quick) photo. I don't know the story of these owls, or what became of them, although I assume since they made it this far in the process, they were either fostered out or successfully released. The one on the left is a red phase screech owl and the one on the right is a gray phase. Even though they are different colors, it's very possible that they came from the same brood. Anyway, I think they are super cute and seeing scenes like this up close is one of the cool things about volunteering at the Raptor Center!
