I canceled the South Dakota part of my trip and returned through North Dakota, so I could pick up the owl and drive him back to the Raptor Center in the Twin Cities. He seems to be doing fine except for the vision problems. Hopefully he will regain his vision and be released back into the wild. This photos is right before I took him back to the Raptor Center.

Unfortunately it turned out that this owl had to be euthanized. It had severe eye lesions which rendered him permanently blind. I'll miss the little guy/gal, a very well-behaved owl and fun traveling companion!
