Connecticut Warbler, Boston, Massachusetts, September 2004
Oporornis agilis. Connecticut Warblers are rare and elusive fall migrants in New England. This bird, first found by Matt Garvey, spent several days in the vicinity of Post Office Square, a small park in the heart of the financial district in downtown Boston.
Glen: This is a great study of the ways in which lighting and background affect the color of our subject birds. The grayish hood, so noticeable in photo eight, is less so in photo ten--it disappears in photo twelve.
