Starvation Creek

This gallery contains waterfalls in and near Starvation Creek State Park, which is located several miles west of Hood River. The creek got its name because in 1884, an Oregon Washington Railroad & Navigation train was marooned for two weeks in 30-foot snowdrifts, and food was carried (with great difficulty) to the starving passengers. Nobody actually starved or died, but the legend lives on.
