Eagle Cap Wilderness comprises 358,461 acres in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest of northeastern Oregon. This wilderness is characterized by dozens of high alpine lakes and meadows, bare granite peaks and ridges, U-shaped glaciated valleys, thick timber in the lower valleys, and scattered alpine timber on the upper slopes, and exquisite wildflowers throughout. Elevations range from 5,000 feet in lower valleys to near 10,000 feet on the highest of the majestic peaks. There are more than 500 miles of hiking and equestrian trails in Eagle Cap Wilderness.
