eBird records since 2010: winter 2009-2010 (3), winter 2010-2011 (none), winter 2011-2012 (2), winter 2012-2013 (3), winter 2013-2014 (3), winter 2014-2015 (45+), winter 2015-2016 (5).
Habitat: Shady mountain forests, understory.
Best locations: Palomar Mountain.
