Rainy Day Fungi

We've had over 20 inches of rain this month. I came home to a tropical garden, a weed-filled yard, and a mushroom paradise. I took several photos and had a hard time choosing which to post. See the others at http://www.pbase.com/image/30591672 and http://www.pbase.com/image/30591720 and http://www.pbase.com/image/30591864

Lovely, Gayle, happy you are back home. Hard choice, but I agree with you.
This is outstanding. Now get to the weed pulling!

That's awesome! Fungi can make for some very interesting compositions with their varied textures, shapes, and colors. Nice!

Very pretty, could be a shot for a calendar. Rain is necessary sometimes too, I suppose.

20" of rain ... have you started building that ark yet?
I like this one best Gayle ... hope the sun comes out soon for you!

It just wont stop raining here either, so I sympathise... I blame myself, a couple of weeks ago I bought a sunlounger for the garden... the weather's been miserable ever since!

I don't think it is normally wet enough here in SoCal to get these? Nice shot.
Karen Stuebing26-Jun-2004 13:04
Yeh, that stuff is thriving here too. Great shot.

A nice shot, So many Polyporus Squamosus on one place. Some can get very big in size too, i found once some with some 15 inches in length. They destroy a tree by eating it from inside. Not absolutely a friend of foresters.
