Northern Hawk Owl with prey

Ottawa,Ontario.

A northern hawk owl is grasping prey in its sharp talons. This looks to be a field mouse of some sort with brown hair and a white belly. Think it may be a deer mouse which is common to the Ottawa area.

Great shot. I finally got down there from Kingston yesterday. Watched it grab a field mouse that jumped out in the middle of the field. It flew so fast into the sun that a flight shot was not possible. Great day I had, thanks for the directions.
