As I had predicted, the owl left sometime in early March as most Hawk Owls have done in the past.
The owl has been here since January 4th, 2010. Basically instead of turning left for the Snowy Owls off exit 58 on the 417, you turn right to Moose Creek (if you were traveling east on the 417).
I have seen it in the mornings as well but moreso in the afternoons usually about 2:30pm to 5pm. The hawk owl is active during the day so if it's not along the road it's in the field somewhere perched in a tree.
If you don't see it, just wait and look around or walk into the field. If you don't see it perched along the road including on top of the poles along the railroad tracks, look into the fields. I have seen this owl more on the side of the tracks across from a bordered up house than I have on the side of the tracks across from the medical centre.
