Sego Canyon, Utah

the pictographs near the entrance to Sego Canyon, painted by archaic local people, looked fascinating, and are well preserved...despite the tricky lighting under the rock overhang, a tight shot was attainable...still, preferred this view, putting the scene into wider context, and showing the slippery conditions we faced here, and at many other wintery locations in the Southwest...as a general rule, I got close to scenes, and the more intrepid Marcia got even closer

Nice to see Marcia in action. It does look cold and slippery.

Seeing the snow on the ground and the way the bushes encroach on your path really shows the obstacles you both were willing to overcome to get your images.

Excellent capture of those pictographs and I like the inclusion of Marcia in the shot. Well done! V

I didn't realize how close I had creeped up the slope! Given my propensity of falling down, I'm surprised I didn't here!!!!!!

Fascinating pictographs, and I think an excellent way of portraying them, in context.

A precarious perch for getting the shot, but well worth the effort. V

An excellent capture of a special moment. A perfect visual description of doing what it takes to get the "shot". Nicely composed with great lighting and a terrific story telling image. So much to see and the images on the rock face are amazing. VV

I like that you included Marcia in this shot as it adds context and a modern human connection to the ancients.
