lucky

near Beatty, Nevada

seems this airplane crashed here in 1977, during a promotional stunt by the brothel (this is Nevada after all) itself...the pilot survived the incident, so must have thought he got lucky that day

for a more astute look at the plane itself, here is a link to Dan's image: http://www.pbase.com/image/162446905

Funny photo. Looks like the old C-47 (DC3). Maybe the guy was in a rush. Vote.

Nice capture from this perspective, David. Lucky to have survived, or lucky to have landed near a brothel? ;-)

I think this view tells the story the best. Great color and contrast that bring back the feeling of being there on that beautiful, yet chilly morning. ~BV~

Read "Angel", sorry...

Seems a Guardian Angle must have been in the cockpit with him. Serendipitous juxtaposition of two totally unexpected subjects. "V"

Wonderful image of this wreck in a wonderful location, lucky for you ( and no doubt many other intrepid photographers ) that they have left it in place.

Some pilots say that any landing that you walkaway from is a good landing. An image with humor and a must shoot image since you were there. I know that you were just passing by when you saw this photo op. Beautifully composed with excellent details and lighting. VVV
