eclipsed

from Vancouver Lookout, Harbour Centre

looking east naturally enough offers a view of the Downtown Eastside area, a mix of old and new...the Dominion Building, reddish in the lower center, was the tallest office tower in the British Empire when it was finished in 1910...that status was lost only two years later, when the World Building (subsequently renamed the Sun Tower), with the green domed top, was completed...for height both have since been eclipsed my more recent developments

The skyscape is definitely changing... the old Vancouver I knew in the 60's has long gone. super aerial view. V

Nice mix of architecture and styles. The rooftop garden is fascinating with trees that size.

You certainly gained your "high" in this part of town :) Interesting that in 1910 the Dominion Building was the tallest in the British Empire !! V
