Window Rock, New Mexico

two days before the D-Day anniversary, Chester Nez, last of the original group of 29 Navajo who devised an indecipherable code, passed away in New Mexico...Nez, and the approximately 400 Navajo who served with the US Marines in such critically important communications roles during WW2 are remembered by this memorial at Window Rock, capital of the Navajo Nation
