Moeraki, South Island

these unusual round boulders were encased in the sandy bank behind the beach for eons...but erosion has freed them...now they sit in the sea and are best visited at low tide

Perfect composition, David, and an excellent exposure, too.
The rocks look like huge 'medicine balls'! (V)
Kind regards, Chris

The boulders themselves are quite interesting. The presence of the dog here is unexpected and presents an interesting irony. V

Giant's marbles! Makes you wonder how they were formed in the first place. Nice composition. Well done.

Great shot of these boulders - they look almost like some ancient creatures washed ashore.
Like how the dog is casually walking past.

There was a marketing campaign for NZ a few years ago. One catch phrase was "the world has lost it's Marbles.....we know where they are." These concretions have a magnetic appeal for man and beast alike.

Nice shot of these unusual looking boulders. The dog gives this image proportion and I also like the background. "V"
