Mt Doom

Tongariro National Park, North Island

Mount Ngauruhoe was filmed for 'Lord of the Rings' to represent Mt Doom, and still carries a punch..less than 2500 years old, it remains an active volcano...rocks scattered about the area attest to the violent eruptions that can occur in the country's first national park

Ah, so this is Mount Doom! It was certainly powerful, foreboding and frightening in the film! V

Great looking image. Well composed too. The tight crop is very effective here. This image reminds of a woodcut of Mt. Fuji by Hokusai. "V"

I can understand why this place was chosen for this film! Very impressive! I do like the way you composed the picture. Wonderful colors as well : ) V
