A Thanksgiving Day gift from the Babcock geese - GALLERY
An overcast day on the chilly side. After an early afternoon Thanksgiving dinner, I stopped at Babcock County Park near McFarland, WI. There is open water there year round, so I thought I might see a few Canada geese and some mallards. To my great surprise, there was a welcoming committee of geese of varying colors. A very personable bunch. I spent quite awhile enjoying their company and taking photographs. Since that day in 2011, I have stopped by Babcock Park many times to see what my favorite geese are up to.

Keep on going
Marching in step
Foraging
Let's go into the parking lot and check out that blue car
Not afraid of the car
In fact we'll spend some time right in front of the car
We're not afraid of the photographer either
Digging deep
Hey, this little lady isn't part of our group
Up close
Here's lookin' at you
What's up?
Off in a new direction
Stretch those wings

A little grooming before taking a nap
I've gotta look one more time before dozing off
Trying really hard
Finally tucked in for a snooze
The watchful eye - and what a beautiful blue eye it is
One eye open -- can't trust that photographer over there
