Cathedral Termite Mound

Maguk, Kakadu NT

I have known this to be one of the biggest termite mounds in Kakadu for a long time, but until you see someone else standing
next to it, it is difficult to appreciate its size. I would guess this mound to be over 6 metres tall. Considering it is built by the
diminutive 3.5 mm Nasutitermes triodiae, in human terms that would be like building a tower over 2 kilometers tall.

I'm impressed.
