Tasmanian Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus)

Cradle Valley, Tasmania, Australia

Whilst waiting for delivery of my 80-400mm lens, I risked my life with a pocket point and shoot.
Actually, this snake was very shy and it took me a long time before it let me approach it close enough
to get a photo, so I don't think it was that much of a risk. Tiger snakes are the most commonly
observed snakes over much of Tasmania.
