Captain Cook's telescope.

Occasionally one sees a sculpture that is supposed to encapsulate conservative establishments (in this case, the dominance of the
British Empire) and falls flat. This is a prime example. This sculpture does, however, capture the essence of the patriarchic nature
of seafaring during that time, as does the Centrepoint tower offer some insight into the possible insecurities of its creators.


Captian Cook does look very proud of his telescope.
