I bought my old '72 Guild D-35 in January '73, my senior year in high school in Portland, OR. Picked up another D-35 (a '78, recently sold) in S.F. sometime around '86. In the summer of '06, I bought a couple of '74 Guilds off eBay... a mahogany-bodied D-25M and a maple-bodied G-37Bld. When I discovered how wonderfully different they sounded from each other and my D-35, I was hooked... I started "collecting" Guild dreads, with the goal of getting one in each of the tonewoods. Since then I have added a rosewood-bodied '92 D-55, an '81 ash-bodied D-46, a pearwood D-44 from 1971, and most recently, a rosewood bodied '76 D-50.
