Aegyptica

Aegyptica. Egyptian dreams enough for two lifetimes. Aegyptica 2007 absorbed January traveling from the Delta to Abu Simbel in Nubia with Dr Michael Birrell ( http://www.bcarchaeology.com ) on a Ramesses ll study tour . Dr Michael and his local people personify Egypt. Traveling with your personal dedicated foodie archaeologist must be as close to heaven on earth as it gets. Our final exam on the south eastern wall at the temple of Philae at Aswan amidst the granite and bougainvillea.
Now who do you know with a thousand ton exam paper?.
Dr Michael has a recently updated Galleria in Rusticana go to : https://pbase.com/galleria_rusticana/galleria_archaeologica
And a Galleria on the Egyptian Western Oases and the white Desert go to:

A thousand photographs up the Nile with four cameras, these galleries will mature with time . A Walk in The Theban Hills takes you to Dier el Madina and up into the hills following the paths of the ancient artisan engineers to the Valley of The Kings and to the lovely Mortuary Temple of Egypts great Queen Hatshepsut, and we have in mind a series on Hatshepsuts Temple itself, The Nile and Lake Nasser. There were many items from the walk left over when we got down to Hatshepsut so we gathered them up into an Addendum which has a panorama of Dier el Madina at the conclusion. So if you have taken the walk early why not go back and catch up. Hot Air, Cats, Sphinx, Cairo, Abu Simbel, and A Walk are Galleria in their own right(s) so please drill down and enjoy.
As mentioned elsewhere we have been working on Panoramas. There are two at the end of A Walk in the Theban Hills. You can catch these on : https://pbase.com/galleria_rusticana/a__walk_in_the_theban_hills
And for the future we are working on a Galleria which will feature Queen Hatshepsut and we will also take you deep into the Libyan Desert to the Gilf Kibir and the amazing ancient rock art.
