Tess: The Many Faces of a Lifetime

logo

Tess is my 12 year old Yellow Lab. She has an osteosarcoma in her cranium which puts increasing pressure on her brain as it grows. I give her medication to reduce the inflammation, but, really, it is a matter of weeks at best before she dies. This morning we had our first snowfall of the year. Tess loves the snow, so I let her out into it. She was very happy. I tried to get a shot of her in it but that effort didn't really work. I must then have taken a shot through the storm door, and looking on the screen on the camera, I loved it, the ugly tumor was not visible and she looked almost dream-like. It was ethereal. It was everythng Tess is to us.

It seemed to be the right time to do something to celebrate her life. I resolved to use that image to create others in Photoshop which represented the different facets of her personality we have come to love. I had no idea how it would develop, but I am on a good track, so I will finish this tribute to my dog, using just that one photo to reveal what I can of this dog with human-like sensitivities.
