Returning home from a day of photographing Lupines in the Sugar Hill/Franconia area, I saw the sky was coloring up and knew I would be passing Echo Lake. Pulled into the parking lot, walked to the beach, and got lucky ;-) 58 years ago I first skied these trails (not all were there at the time). The famous "Old Man of the Mountain" profile in rock, which fell down recently, was just out of view around Cannon Mountain.
