This must be Pennsylvania month - not only have I just posted images taken there, now I have been inspired by a Steeler's Fan! (Sorry Patriots) Thanks to Mindy McNaughter for the inspiration to do flower close ups. You have set the standard, and I don't expect to come close to that. This image came from the Tracy Memorial Library Garden, for which I have a separate gallery. This is a delphinium, the exact variety I will have to post later. It grows on a stock with many others, all about 1 and a half inches in diameter, up to maybe 40 on a stock. This was about 18 inches off the ground and the camera was horizontal on the tripod. The shot was not looking down, as suggested by "morris" in dpreview forum comments. It was not easy to isolate just one flower in the group.
