Grafton pond has only a few houses on it in one spot and the rest of the shoreline is owned by the NH Society for the Preservation of Forrests. I think the loons know this. Also only 6hp motors are allowed and very few use them. This morning with no clouds in the sky, it was chilly and in the 40's but the loons were noisy. This was a very lucky shot taken hand held in a canoe. Just before this shot there was no sun and no good shots. 30 seconds after the sun came up the scenes were "too hot" and the image were very contrasty. This was the only keeper of the day. But it answered requests from visitors to the gallery where my work is displayed, who wanted Grafton Pond images.
