A car or two was parked in front of the "Clubhouse Gate" each day.

"One of the oldest automobile manufacturers in Britain, the Daimler Motor Company was renowned as a builder of quality automobiles for the elite. The firm even supplied cars to the British royal family. During the 1930s Daimler entered the sporting car market with the Dolphin. Powered by a 2-1/2 liter six-cylinder engine, the Dolphin is distinguished by its dual-cowl phaeton coachwork by Charlesworth, a rare body style among British cars of the era. Though twelve Dolphins were built approximately five were destroyed in the German blitz of 1940. Today just four are know to survive." From a description in the front window.

In view of its rarity I was surprised to find on the web that one had been recently offered for 'only' $119,900.

WOW! A wonderful capture of a truly classic vehicle. The creme de la creme polish was no doubt used to give it that lustre. Thanks for sharing, Frank. ~V
