Dangerous Curves

D3-122710-061

The photo was shot through the windshield. Part of the blurry effect and lack of wide DOF is due to curvature of the windshield, etc. The only way I could see for getting it better would have been to get out of the car, and I wasn’t going to do that on such a rainy day.
There was not much possibility for stopping down the aperture, which would have cut down on exposure. I needed the fast shutter speed and it was a dark morning, a problem we often have in Oregon early mornings. The light is a lot lower than one might think.

Wow Vern, this is stunning! I love how you used the curvy road to draw our eye through this photo. The only nitpick I might have is the shallow DoF makes for the front of the image to be somewhat blurry -- I see you handheld it but at 1/500sec you were getting a fast enough shutter speed that you could have stopped down the aperture a bit to get a bigger DoF. Love the fog, the little car, and just how peaceful it looks here! Well done!
