Fisher tracks

Fisher tracks

The fisher has a double-recording track, where its
hind feet directly land in those of its fores.
Also, the 3-4-3-4 track pattern of a fisher is pretty
typical of their loping gait. Size is right, and the 5 toes (notice one is
slightly ahead of the others in asymmetrical form)
eliminates many other mammals. A bobcat would have a
rounder track and more catlike gait.

my brothers and i were checking our game cameras on our farm in coryland, bradford county pa. on the weekend of 1-4-14 and found a nice picture of a fisher which surprised and delighted us emencly!

just saw my 1st Fischer this morning near Sugar Notch PA. Ive never seen one in the 30+ years ive been in the northeast Pa woods. At 1st i didnt realize what it was. I took a picture of it tracks in the snow with my cell phone. I will try to upload it soon

finally someone with the sense to put an object next to the footprint for a size reference...as a graphic designer/photographer i thank you. i already know the size of a fisher and have seen tracks...but for all these people posting sightings with the fisher ranging 5 to 25 pounds its good you can show them that they might remember it being much larger or smaller than it might have actually been. great photos

I just saw my first fisher cat this morning. I am a bus driver for children going to summer school. My rider and I were floored when we saw this, what look to be the biggest cat we ever saw . The color of deer, the face of a cat with a long bushy tail. It was in a wooded area near some farms. As excited as we were, i really hope i don't run to any more . i am so glad I wasn't out for a troll and ran into it. Thank you, Judy A. 07/21/08
