I have lost weight fast during the last weeks - like Trevor Reznik in "The Machinist".
During these days, I noticed that I started to lose weight if I would not eat as much as I could.
In Venice, my left lung started to run full with water again. Also I had something like a pleuritis, which hurt a lot when breathing.
The symptoms went away some days later - breathing was much more smooth - so I thought that the situation was becoming better.
Actually, however, the breathing had become smoother because there was even more water inside my left lung, which had started to partially compress parts of the lung (atelectasis).
Very soon, the water was pressed from pleura into my left lung, which caused a bad cough.
It also meant I could not sleep lying flat on my back, or on my left side.
The photo shows me with a weight lower then it was before all this (check the photo from August 2002).
Anyway, when the photo was taken, I was not feeling too bad actually.
