In January 2009 I spent a week on the tiny island of Culebra, off the northeast coast of Puerto Rico. It is the little sister of the somewhat better known island of Vieques. Despite it's beautiful beaches and location near other popular islands (it's only 15 miles from St. Thomas), it is largely undeveloped. To those who visit, that is it's charm--not a franchise in sight. I camped on Culebra's largest and most beautiful beach, Playa Flamenco. I spent my time exploring the beaches on foot and the bumpy roads by Jeep. I hope you enjoy the results!
