The black and white is better, but you have managed to get more detail in the shadow area from the duotone so it may be worth looking at the black and white conversion again.

fantastic! I like it better as b&w. The duotone is competing with my interest of the boy's expression. And for me, this is all about that wonderful expression of happiness and joy. B&W works so well in removing the color as part of the subject and putting all of thie interest on the actualy content of the photo. Absolutely a first rate image. Nice work.
