First Nation people have a strong presence on Vancouver Island and their art can be
found in all the cities and small towns. This is a portion of a 'Welcoming
Figure' that is located at the Cowichan Tribes House of Friendship in Duncan,
BC. It is a large arch, approximately 16 feet tall and 20 feet wide, on each side is a
full sized Welcoming Figure, greeting all who enter.
