The Gull

Southern Vancouver Island

Gulls are a constant when you live next to the sea...a part of the scenery
and character of life near the edge of the water. They can be annoying pests,
they can be comical entertainers, or they can be grace and beauty as they
soar on the wind. With all of those possibilities this Herring Gull just
seemed tired. Stormy weather had persisted though the night and early
morning (one of the worst storms of the season) and it seemed all the gull
wanted to do was yawn (we were treated to several), close its eyes and get
some sleep.

Fine capture of this brutish bird....I'm not a big gull fan! I really like the textures and detail in the feathers though :)
