A Fugative on the Loose

Southern Vancouver Island

Goats can be challenging animals. They are smart, sociable and usually extremely affectionate. We see this one regularly as we're driving around the island, not always where he is expected to be. Today he was loose (again), standing along the roadside watching the cars drive by and nibbling on the telephone pole. I stopped to get a shot (a natural reaction...right?) and was appalled when he decided he should cross the road and come to visit. The rest is a long story..... the goat stayed safe, I wasn't hit by other cars that were driving by (they went slow, laughing at the ridiculous situation) and I vow NEVER to stop to take a picture of a stray goat alongside a road again!

We have an exotic ram on the loose in the Medford-Ashland area. His fence blew down a week ago in Phoenix, OR. He was last seen in Ashland, hiding behind a home. So far he has evaded capture. Great shot of the grumpy ram.
