Sea Lion Feeding

Southern Vancouver Island

During the annual salmon runs sea lions and seals are a familiar sight in Vancouver Island waters. Sea lion and seal facts: Like human hands, seal and sea lions flippers have five skeletal digits. However at a distance these digits are not always visible in sea lions. The front flippers of seals do have five visible claws.

Great shot Carl.... I think I'll just throw my camera in the swamp now... matter of fact, the only way you could possibly improve on this action shot, is by training the seal to use the camera...... Thomas
