This Questar 3.5 Duplex is mounted on a Meade tripod and wedge adapted to support the Questar base. A Nikon D80 with a right-angle Hoodman finder is coupled to the axial port of the scope. It is aimed at Venus, only one arc-hour away from the sun. The hood is extended, and it made a big difference in blocking stray sunlight from entering the tube, and was also a added safety factor.
I triggered the shutter, set on the mirror delay mode, with an electronic shutter release. At ISO 400, Venus was properly exposed at 1/640 of a second at f/14.
