On April 7, 2009, Venus was a little more than an hour's arc away from the sun. It was not visible to the unaided eye, but I found it with the setting circles on my Questar 3.5 duplex with only rough polar alignment. This image is a stack of 33 images, taken with a Nikon D80 at the prime focus axis of the Questar, shortly after noon. The exposure was 1/640 of a second at f/14, at ISO 400.
