For the first time in many years, we drove over to the suburb of Stockton to watch the New Years Eve fireworks on Newcastle Harbour. What a surprise to us to see many 100's of others with the same idea! There were two displays... the first one at 9pm from the old Dockyard, the second at midnight from Nobby's lighthouse. Other photographers will understand how, when I was all set up ready to take my shots of the fireworks, the telescopic aerial on my remote sheared off, fell down inside the control rendering the device uesless!! With only 10 minutes left, I had to change the camera to a basic 'fireworks' setting, get it back onto the tripod and take them manually, hardly what I'd been gearing myself up for. I guess I was lucky to get what I did albeit I will know better next time!!
Great shots Kaye. You captured it very well. We watched from the deck at home. Most spectacular.xxx Pam
