Sicilian Delight

This fabulous Nero D'Avola comes from Sicily at relatively modest price at around $12 CND, yet it's considered to be one of the best vintages on the Italian market. Heavily bodied with very dark ruby gamma , exclusively charming in nose with strong accent of violets and wild plums, it's definitely one of the best Italian wines. The bouquet is absolutely wonderful with dominant hints of cacao beans mixed with cinnamon, add just a bit of hazelnuts to complete a picture ! Highly recommended with mashed and peppered yukka mixed with chives and roasted garlic, complimentary to white wine roasted pork medallions garnished with roasted balsamic herbs and fried peas, holy macaroni !

With your wife's culinary expertise and your wine knowledge...you two would do well on a daytime TV series. Mmmmm..lovely.

Bernd, I am not sure about categorizing the wines, it's just my sincere feelings which usually fade away after bottle gets empty, LOL ! Curves do make difference, especially while gradually shaping bottle from barrel to cork, yet I'd rather prefer curveless bottle which would have been endless cylinder, LOL !

Thanks for the education. I didn't know that wines are categorized according to their gamma. Do Brightness, Contrast, Levels, and Curves make a difference as well? The steeper the curves, the steeper the price? What are the curves on that one?

Cheers and Bon Appetit, my friend.
