Josef Beuys at MUMOK

MUMOK, Vienna, Austria

Today's pad is an act of solidarity with Doug Kessler, who obviously has difficulties with some German art estate for displaying some pictures managed by this estate in one of his galleries (read the caption of his image for the whole story). I too like to take photographs at museums (see my art gallery here) and I consider posting these images in my galleries as an unpaid PR for the museums rather than a violation of copyrights. There are not so many people visiting art museums anyway (at least as far as contemporary art is concerned - as can be seen on this image).

As soon as you have the right to take pictures, I guess you have the right to show them...
Don't know Beuys, but I will have to check out. Nice perspective.

Ah yes . . . Beuys . . . my favorite artist (see my Profile). :-) Pure genius. His installation pieces are magical. I want to see this exhibit. :-) Great shot.

This shot compliments the artistry of the original exhibit. Very appealing.

well, you certainly have a point here! one could also see the pictures as free advertisements for musea like these....maybe they feel ashamed to see the absence of visitors displayed so openly
