3/16/08 - On Becoming a Tulip....

Not a whole lot to see at the moment, but the light yellowish-green vertical area in the center is the start of a tulip buried within the green foliage that first arrives on the scene.
I thought that it would be interesting to track the development of this tulip from this point on until it "becomes a tulip".
This is one of about a dozen bulbs growing in a glass jar with no soil - just air & water (covering the roots).
Since I was shooting down on an angle rather than with the lens more parallel to the foliage (there was a leaf in the way) I stopped the macro lens way down to f/32. Even so it's still soft at the top and bottom (note the fine "hairs"); I focused near the mid point vertically.
