Another lotus image from Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.
Went here with a camera club. The challenge, in my mind, is to make at least one image that is not the same as the 100 images that every other person there with a camera made.
We can all make ordinary images of extraordinary subjects, but making the ordinary extraordinary is the challenge (when you're looking at acres upon acres of beautiful flowers they become ordinary).
I went to a far corner upon arriving - (6:20 AM, the sun rose 30 minutes before) - and was able to find a shady area. The sun became a real problem with bad shadows unless you could find a subject close enough to shade with a diffusion disk (and even then you might be able to shade the subject but still had bright mottled background to contend with). If you haven't noticed, I'm very particular about background; it either enhances or it detracts - neutral is rare.
