Finalist - BetterPhoto monthly contest (April)
Back from several days (and 5:30 AM mornings) in God's country - in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This is the view from Wintergreen overlook. Have about 700 photos to go through, but decided to start with this one. My wife observed that the mountain ridges looked like water (waves to be precise). She's right - if the nearest black silhouetted ridge were cropped out, leaving the top 3/4 of the image, it would look like ocean waves. Mornings like this make you happy to be alive (apart from the fact that the temperature was freezing, the wind was howling, and my finger tips were frozen - but all in all, still great).
