This year Ye Olde Photographer was visiting his sister in South Carolina on Argus Day, so he took advantage of that to catch some views not found in Pennsylvania! YOP used his venerable C-3 and loaded it with an actual in-date cassette of Ilford FP4 Plus. The film was developed in Kodak HC110, Dilution H (1+63) for 14 minutes at 70ºF. The "official" submissions from multiple participants may be seen through the Argus Collectors Group site.
We began the roll on a street of rather nice homes in Conway, SC, where several huge live oaks have been allowed to take precedence over vehicular accomodation -- rather neat.
The roll was finished at Brookgreen Gardens, a beautiful sculpture park along US 17 south of Myrtle Beach near Murrells Inlet. In addition to the gorgeous grounds and artwork, our visit was a chance to see the National Sculpture Society 83rd Annual Awards Exhibition which included a piece by the family sculptor, Joshua Koffman. We got to see it in place before he did! Being in the exhibit is quite an honor as the 43 pieces selected were chosen from more than 800 submissions. (Josh is married to Ye Olde Photographer's niece and we are all quite proud of him.)
There were a couple of shutter-cocking-lever-bumping-the-knuckle incidents, but no skipped frames and, more amazingly, no double exposures, so YOP is declaring it another successful Argus Day! A selection of the results follows.
