Gold Hill is a famous street in Shaftesbury in the English county of Dorset and one of the most photographed streets in England.
It is a steep cobbled street featured on the cover of countless books, chocolate boxes, and calendars of Dorset and
rural England. Thomas Hardy based his novels in this part of England, which he called Wessex.
Gold Hill also became famous in a television commercial for Hovis bread directed by Ridley Scott in 1973, recently voted the
