Fascinating presentation. I quite like how you have composed this .

first off, for my unknowing western mind, this scene is a bit shocking for a start. Is that guy really about to flip/kick that ball? And this in an alley? Don't only professional soccer players do that on grass fields?...Ok, enough with my nieve ways.

Technically a great image (you set the standard for technically great images so that's not a suprise). B&W processing is fantastic as well.

Ok so onto the good stuff. The intensity and timing of this shot is amazing. 100 more tries at this and I don't think it could be improved upon. The movement of only the man and ball always pulls back interest after exploring the rest of the scene. The other men watching, as I am, but I am watching everyone and everything at the same time in a photograph. This is a perfect image for illustrating the power of the photograph versus video. I love it.

Fantasitc B & W. the action caught at it's peak, with great tones and contrast. v

You have done so many things just right here Dave..everyone's eyes draws us to the focal point of the ball..then immediately to his face..such and skill.....and the Takraw player is skillful too :-)

Dynamic and wonderful tones.

I'm with Kal 100%. The expression and body language is everything in this shot.
To be honest, on first glance I thought the white paint on the floor in the left bottom corner was distracting, but I pondered it for a while...and it seems to lead the eye smoothly into the white line of the net, and around to the players. You are genius, Mr. P.

More than anything his expression sells this image..joy, tension, apprehension and nervous energy...all in a face. Brilliant timing. K

David, this is a brilliant image. I have a soft spot for takraw...the timing is just perfect, right before the smash. The light brings out the muscles of the players, conversion is as good as it gets and the location shows just how popular this game is...it gets played everywhere. - big vote
