Newer-style rocker arm assemblies ('76-'84) self-align on conical spacers. '85-on also self-align using dowels on the head-side of the rocker blocks that fit into recesses in the head. Note the punch mark on the tops of the rocker shafts. It must face up (top) and out (toward valve cover).
